A family vacation in Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park is loads of fun for the whole family, especially when the summer rolls around.
National Park Activities
Rocky Mountain National Park offers a number of popular summer programs designed just for kids and families - they are run by the park's rangers and naturalists. Sign up for talks around the campfire, daytime and nighttime hikes conducted by rangers, educational videos at the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center, and ranger talks at the Fall River Visitor Center. The Junior Ranger program is also very popular.
Wildlife Watching
In this area kids always have the opportunity to watch the wildlife and see what nature is all about. Spring, fall, and winter are the best times of year to watch wildlife. Elk, deer, and bighorn sheep are the most common sightings. Luckily, bears and mountain lions are a rare sight.
